Active membership in Mountain Domestic Violence Coalition
In collaboration
with the Women
in Crisis program, Mountain Resource Center provides
critical services for mountain area survivors of domestic
violence. Survivors receive assistance through individual
and group support; safety and awareness education; referrals
to safe shelters, legal services, and medical providers.
Survivors and their families often access Mountain Resource
Center’s on-site clinic, receive assessments and counseling
from on-site nurses, and obtain individual or group health
education and support. Program staff educate health care
professionals and community groups to increase awareness
about the insidious harm domestic violence does to individuals,
children, families, and the community. Community service
linkages enhance the access of survivors and their families
to health, mental health, and advocacy services. |
